REFLECTION
_
RYAN T. RUBIO "Cleanliness isn't a matter of products and things; cleanliness is a matter of diligence and effort by people. Keeping public places as clean as possible on an individual basis, a public willing to pay for what individuals can't keep clean or clean up, public education for what are or aren't good practices, and to help keep the public informed when and where specific problems need to be addressed." This activity had given me an opportunity to become a more productive individual, concerning on how to care and how to be responsible in our community and environment. Presenting and engaging such activities is indeed of great help to our community if we only know how important every action we do. Through this advocacy, we can now share our little contribution and part in a more meaningful and significant way. With this concern, we could create an outlet to everyone who share the same views and passion in sharing their own effort and own little way to protect and maintain the natural environment through clean-up drive . |
Mary Ann D. Apostol Being part of this advocacy, it is a pleasure to have a chance to do and contribute something in our community. It's not easy to plan as well as to conduct an advocacy that can really helps in our community. But, because of our professor, Dr. Ava Claire Robles, we did something good !
She taught us on how to be part and productive citizen of this community. I would like to say THANK YOU Ma'am :-) for letting us appreciate the beauty of our nature and how to taking care of it. As we gone through this activity, I can say it's more than enough that you could share and made a history to our community. And I'll promise to myself that, it is not just an activity given by our professor that to accomplish but it will be a part of my daily life that in my own simple way I can contribute something that can maintain the beauty of our nature. I learned a lot of things through this course, especially on how be a part of our community. |

When we conducted our advocacy in the barangay Calumpang, I found it interesting to clean the streets there because I know is very significant issue of today’s major concern is the garbage everywhere and our government, non government organizations, together with the international organizations work hand in hand to face our problem on solid waste . We say we cant help but actually we can act in our own simple little way. Furthermore, it is believed that we can make a difference when making choices, and the individual consumer is often seen as not only responsible for herself, but directly responsible for the world individuals should be held responsible when acting in ways that contribute to environmental problems. As individual living in here in our earth we should act not tomorrow but now! |

I'm a nature lover. So whatever activity related to environment, i have the will to help. During our clean-up drive activity at Brgy. Calumpang, we are very thankful because that day was very nice. I'm so excited to start cleaning the place. Although, I'm not felling well that day, I was very enjoyed together with my group mates. I can see the happiness and willingness to their face to maintain the cleanliness of environment. After the activity, we decided to go to Holy Cross Parish to give gratitude to our God for His protection.

First and for most, I would like to say thank you to our prof. Dr. Ava Claire Robles for giving us chance to explore and overlooked our surroundings and be able to evaluate what we can contribute into our society. It's an honor for me to be part of this advocacy, for we all know that it is hard for us to make some contribution to our society. But I do believe that when we do, it is very refreshing, it is a kind of feeling that you are proud because you have contribute something into the society even in a simple way.

‘Clean up Drive ‘. The first thing that comes up to my mind is a group of people helping each other cleaning on a specific area. On March 01, 2013 we conducted a clean up drive at the brgy. calumpang general santos city. It was pretty amazing and a wonderful experienced. I’m very happy, proud, and thankful. It’s because not only I was present at that time, I was with my classmate and make bonding with each other. But because its the effort that in my little own way I helped to protect and beautify our Mother Earth. It’s a tireful day but its fulfilling. |

Having the best learning includes understanding and reflecting about fundamental environmental issues and actively engaging in activities in and out of the classroom.
In our clean up drive at Calumpang, me and my group mates have done a tiring but fun and fulfilling work! At first I thought we couldn't done it well and we would take a long time, but I can say by what we have done that, through helping hand and hand, nothing is impossible. Recognizing the environmental issues especially the problem in garbage's , help me to develop my discipline and understanding my role in the planet we live in. |

As a biology student, I realized what is my role in the environment aside from being a future teacher, because during the clean-up drive in Calumpang, I feel very happy what I am doing. I really love to clean to make the mother earth beautiful but I am disappointed too, when I saw some people do not aware on how to manage their own waste.
